At the West University of Timișoara, for "freshmen", the academic year begins with "Welcome to UVT" accommodation week, in the last week of September, in the seven days before the start of teaching activities (period 23 - 29 September 2024).
During this week, students enrolled in the first year of undergraduate university study programs are expected at UVT to discover what it means to be a student, how the university environment works and what opportunities they have from this position.
The program of the Initiation Week at UVT includes introductory and accommodation events, information sessions, counseling and orientation sessions in the university environment, tours of the city of Timișoara and visits to cultural institutions in the city, team building activities, cultural events, conferences, debates, exhibitions , theater performances, film screenings, concerts, etc.
In the activities specially prepared for "freshmen", they will learn more about the university and how it works, about their study program, about the rights and opportunities they have as UVT students, about the teaching staff with whom they will interact, about timetable and many other information needed to have a story studentship. They will also have the opportunity to discover Timișoara and its cultural institutions and participate in a whole series of cultural-artistic events.
The initiation week at UVT aims to facilitate the transition from the pre-university environment to the university environment for students enrolled in the first year of the bachelor's degree cycle at the University of West in Timișoara, by organizing counseling, orientation, initiation, presentation, accommodation, their integration and support during the week before the start of the academic year.
The activities organized during the Initiation Week at UVT are of the following type:
- workshops/presentation workshops of UVT faculties/departments or of various institutions of interest to them in the municipality of Timișoara;
- training sessions for the development of transversal skills necessary for the university education system;
- presentations of the various institutions or facilities that can be enjoyed in UVT or in the municipality of Timișoara;
- conferences with various personalities from the scientific, cultural or sports world;
- visits to various cultural objectives in the city;
- guided tour of the city of Timișoara;
- participation in cultural/educational events in partnership with cultural institutions in the city;
- team building activities.

Univibes by UVT festival
The tradition of #OccupyTheUniversity continues in 2024, celebrating a new university year in the already established style.
During the Initiation Week at UVT, there will also be The official celebration of the opening of the academic year (September 27, 2024), along with a unique event in Romania – "Univibes by UVT" festival, which turns the whole university into a big venue for concerts, art exhibitions & parties. Established artists will turn the UVT headquarters into a dancefloor for one day, to celebrate together the beginning of a new academic year.
Three stages, a mix of musical genres, electric, acoustic, rock, hip-hop, DnB or electro rhythms, games & activities, food & drinks areas, all of this welcomes the students and the public from Timisoara in the premises of the central headquarters of the University of the West from Timișoara (bd. Vasile Pârvan no. 4), for a regular start to the academic year.
We are waiting for you at the biggest party of the fall – UNIVIBES by UVT – Friday, September 27, 2024! We start the fun at 17:30 with the DJ-Sets in the inner courtyard, and the music will be heard on the stages in front and behind the UVT from 18:00.
The musical program includes shows offered by: Customs, man to the moon, Matei Ioachimescu, PERCUSSIONescu (Irina Rădulescu, Daria Achim, Maria Rizea) & The Romanian Flute Ensemble, Omu Gnom (with DJ Undoo), Frate Gheorghe, MCs United (Dani Tobe, Gaseb, Kaos INK, MCx Woodie , Megga Dillah & One Lion, w/ DJ Mack), The Plastic Pavilion, ZoleeVee, Your Mother, B.Mike, No'Dj, IST, BKB' and Kuky, everyone will give their best for you and turn the university into the biggest dancefloor, celebrating the student show together!
