Candidates with special educational needs / disabilities in places specially assigned to them

West University of Timișoara (UVT) offers candidates belonging to national minorities or coming from placement centers / from the social protection system and those with special educational requirements or disabilities at least 25 places financed from the state budget, both at the cycle of university studies license, as well as at the cycle of university studies of MASTERS, for which they have the opportunity to apply separately (in the case of candidates belonging to national minorities, they can apply for places allocated separately only to study programs that do not exist in the state higher education in the language of the respective minority).

Applicants with special educational requirements or disabilities they can apply both to places financed from the state budget allocated specifically for this category of candidates, and to places financed from the state budget addressed to all Romanian or European Union citizens, or to places with a fee.

Through the online application form, each candidate with special educational needs or disabilities will be able to choose to apply for a special place allocated to these categories of people, by ticking this in the section with Personal data and uploading on the platform and subsequently presenting at the collection points of the documents organized by UVT, supporting documents in this regard.

The advantage of obtaining a place financed from the specially designated state budget candidates with special educational requirements or disabilities is that a student admitted to such a place enjoys the status of tuition free of charge for the entire normal duration of university studies corresponding to the study program in which he is enrolled, without entering the reclassification process on seats financed from the state budget / with fee, provided that the annual conditions for the promotion of the academic year established by the UVT regulations are met.

Applicants with special educational requirements or disabilities they will tick in the application form if they want to apply for the special places reserved for them, but they will also select other options and types of places in case they will not be admitted to the special places dedicated to them.

Applicants with special educational requirements or disabilities they will be able to benefit from a special place dedicated to them only if they pass the admission test related to the study program they signed up for. 

For candidates with DISABLED, based on the supporting documents, the admission tests can be adapted according to the type and severity of the disability. These include alternative ways of reading the text (large print, Braille, lector, screen reader), additional time for solving tasks, etc.

For candidates with specific learning disorders and with sensory disorders, based on the diagnostic certificate issued by the competent bodies, upon request, the adaptation of the examination procedures within the admission process is done by:

    1. ensuring an additional time compared to the time initially allocated for the elaboration of the work;
    2. in the case of candidates with dyslexia, the reading of the subjects is ensured by a member of the admission commission at the faculty level; the topics are read one by one, in the order in which the paper is elaborated;
    3. in the case of candidates with dysgraphia, the candidate has the right to an oral evaluation or will dictate the content of the paper to a member of the admission committee at the faculty level;
    4. in the case of candidates with dyscalculia, the use of a pocket / desk computer, Pythagorean board or formula tables is ensured.

If multiple candidates apply with special educational requirements or disabilities on places specially intended for them than the number of such places available at the UVT level, for the cycle of undergraduate university studies, the separation of these candidates will be done, first of all, according to the average obtained in the baccalaureate exam, and then, in case of averages equal, according to the grades obtained in the baccalaureate exam tests, in order (Romanian language and literature, mandatory profile test, profile and specialization test). In the master's degree cycle, in the same situation, the tie-breaker will be based on the average of the graduation exam of the undergraduate university studies, and then, in case of equal averages, according to the average of the years of undergraduate university studies.

Applicants with special educational requirements or disabilities they can register for the admission process at the Western University of Timișoara on places specially intended for them until one day before the first deadline from a chronological point of view for enrollment in undergraduate and master's degree programs from UVT. If after this date all the places dedicated to this category of candidates will not be filled, registrations will be extended until they are filled, but not later from the date on which registrations for each individual faculty close (in accordance with the calendar of the admission process established by the regulations regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process at the level of UVT faculties) for the admission session of the month JulyIf there are still unoccupied places after this date, they will be offered in the admission session of the month September 2024, according to the same principles mentioned previously.
