Description of the exam test (s)

Admission is based on grades from the baccalaureate exam and a written test.

The written test, lasting 3 hours, can be taken, regardless of the field of study program in which the candidate enrolled, in one of the disciplines Mathematics or Computer Science, discipline specified by the candidate in the registration form. The subject elaboration commission, set up at the faculty level, will propose a set of problems, elaborated on the basis of the 2023 baccalaureate exam program.

Details regarding the admission steps

    The selection of candidates registered for the admission contest is made on the basis of the admission average, which is calculated according to the formula:
    N = (N3 + max {N1, N2}) / 2

    where N1 is the general average for the baccalaureate exam, N2 is the grade for the math test or the computer test for the baccalaureate exam (the lack of a grade is equivalent to grade 4), and N3 is the grade obtained for the written entrance exam be at least equal to 5). Admission average must be greater than or equal to 6 (if N is less than 6 the candidate is rejected)

    1. On average, 10 candidates will be admitted, on places financed from the budget, who:
    • during their high school studies, they obtained distinctions (I, II, III prizes) at the international school Olympiads recognized by the Ministry of Education;
    • obtained during high school at least one individual prize I, II, III or mention in the national phase of the specialized Olympics (mathematics or computer science) or of the competitions of Information Technology or Robotics recognized by the Ministry of Education;
    Note. The Adolf Haimovici National Mathematics Competition is assimilated to the Mathematical Olympiad.
    • have the status of heads of promotion within the partner high schools UVT or who obtained an average of 10 at the baccalaureate exam (based on the invitation letter signed by the rector of the university) benefit from free enrollment in the admission process and can benefit from the right to enroll, without the support of the admission contest, on places financed from the state budget, to undergraduate university programs from any UVT faculty ”, if they prove the obtaining of an individual distinction at school competitions in scientific fields (Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Robotics) recognized by MEdu. These candidates will be admitted with an average of 10 (ten).

    2. All candidates applying for a grade of one of the marks included in the calculation of the admission average may apply for a grade of 10.
    • obtained during high school at least one prize in competitions organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (IMF Competition, Inter-County Mathematics Competition Traian Lalescu) or in mathematics and computer science competitions organized by universities in the Universitaria consortium through the profile faculties ( University of Bucharest, Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași);
    • during the high school studies they obtained at least one individual prize I, II or III at the county phases of the specialized olympiads (mathematics or informatics) organized by the Ministry of Education.

    3. Candidates who obtain team awards at national/international school competitions in scientific fields relevant to the profile of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Robotics), can equate one of the grades that enter in the calculation of the admission average, whatever it may be, with the grade obtained on the basis of an interview and the evaluation of the personal portfolio with the results obtained during high school studies (based on the supporting documents uploaded on the admission platform). The portfolio assessment and the interview will be planned and conducted before the entrance exam, during the submission of the admission files, by a committee established at the IMF level.

    Note. The Adolf Haimovici National Mathematics Competition is assimilated to the Mathematical Olympiad.
