    The mission of the undergraduate program Pedagogy of primary and preschool education (PIPP) offered by the Department of Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology of the West University of Timisoara is to train specialists in education sciences with the qualification Pedagogy of primary education and preschoolers, able to conceive and carry out specific didactic activities, in an educational, formal or non-formal context.

    The study program has a pronounced interdisciplinary character, capitalizing on knowledge from multiple fields, such as: Romanian language and literature, didactics of language and communication, didactics of teaching Romanian language and literature in primary education, mathematics, history, geography, fine arts and didactics of these disciplines , pedagogy, psychology, special psychopedagogy, social pedagogy, sociology, through a multi, inter- and transdisciplinary approach to education issues.

      a) Knowledge:
      • PPRC1. The student will be able to explain and interpret critically the relevant theories regarding the development and learning of the human being, the legitimacy of the psychic processes and the psychological characteristics of the preschool and primary school children;
      • PPRC2. The student will be able to analyze and critically interpret the contents of the topics / domains / disciplines he teaches;
      • PPRC3. The student will be able to present and explain the principles of planning and organizing group and individual activities, designed to facilitate the development of children / students in terms of motor skills, cooperation, social skills, trust;
      • PPRC4. The student will be able to present, classify and interpret in terms of opportunity and efficiency, the main methods and tools for assessing the school progress of children / young school children;
      • PPRC5. The student will be able to explain, demonstrate and interpret a variety of effective strategies for leading the preschool group / class of students;
      • PPRC6. The student will be able to explain ways of interaction, both horizontally and vertically, both with the direct beneficiaries, parents and children / students, but also with colleagues or the community;
      • PPRC7. The student will be able to identify and classify the main methods of educational research, corresponding to the principle of compatibility with qualitative and quantitative paradigms.

      b) Skills:
      • PPRA1. The student will be able to assess the level of development of the targeted competencies and formulate the learning needs of students with disabilities.
      • PPRA2. The student will be able to plan long, medium and short term activities, taking into account the curricular specifications;
      • PPRA3. The student will be able to interact with children of preschool / early school age, individually and in groups, using a variety of teaching strategies, adapted to the learning needs of children / students;
      • PPRA4. The student will be able to observe and monitor the children / students, in order to evaluate the progress and to identify the developmental areas or the factors that stand in the way of the progress of the children / students;
      • PPRA5. The student will be able to collect and use relevant data in order to monitor progress, set achievable targets and appropriate sequences of lessons / activities;
      • PPRA6. The student will be able to apply a varied repertoire of strategies for leading the student body effectively, using approaches related to the needs of students, based on the principles of involvement and motivation of students;
      • PPRA7. The student will be able to communicate effectively with parents or other specialists regarding students' progress, children's future development directions and their well-being;
      • PPRA8. The student will be able to design activities in partnership with various institutions in the community, capitalizing on broad educational goals;
      • PPRA9. The student will be able to integrate the research data based on his / her evidence, the research data from the specialized literature and the conclusions of his / her own reflections in order to make the teaching activities more efficient.

    Description of the exam test (s)

    MUSICAL SKILLS TEST

    for the undergraduate degree program

     PEDAGOGY OF PRIMARY AND PRESCHOOL EDUCATION

     

    Candidates opting for the undergraduate degree program PEDAGOGY OF PRIMARY AND PRESCHOOL EDUCATION they will take an aptitude test, which is eliminatory:

    • Musical skills: (musical hearing, rhythm, interpretation of a song of the candidates' choice);

    Each candidate will receive a grade admis or rejected, and this cannot be disputed.

    Declared candidates admitted will support Romanian language proficiency test (spelling and punctuation elements).

     

    NOTE: Graduates Pedagogical High School / National Pedagogical College who took this musical aptitude test for high school admission will no longer take that test, provided they submit a certificate from the respective educational institution confirming this.

     

    Declared candidates rejected at this musical aptitude test, I can opt for another bachelor's degree program in the field of Educational Sciences (Pedagogy or Special psychopedagogy).

    TEST TO VERIFY KNOWLEDGE OF THE ROMANIAN LANGUAGE (SPELLING, PUNCTUATION AND CORRECT EXPRESSION)

    for the undergraduate degree program

    PEDAGOGY OF PRIMARY AND PRESCHOOL EDUCATION

     

    The test to verify knowledge of the Romanian language (spelling, punctuation and correct expression) aims to assess the candidates' knowledge of the main rules of spelling, punctuation and correct expression, in force according to the normative works of the Romanian language.

    The aim is to understand and analyze the distribution of spelling and punctuation marks in various types of utterances, as well as the notification/correction of expressions that do not comply with the current norms of the Romanian language.

    The test will contain 36 items, valued at 0,25 points each. One point is awarded ex officio. The maximum mark that can be obtained in this test is 10 (ten). The minimum pass mark for this test is 5 (five).

    Time to solve the test: 60 minutes.

    Details regarding the admission steps

      Bachelor's degree program Primary and preschool education pedagogy - part-time education (the curriculum can be consulted at https://fsp.uvt.ro/pedagogia-invatamantului-primar-si-prescolar/).
      Admission criteria:
      1. Musical aptitude test (admitted/rejected) (annex 5)
      2. Test to verify knowledge of the Romanian language (elements of spelling, punctuation and correct expression) (50% of the admission mark) (annex 6)
      3. General average at the baccalaureate exam (50% of the admission mark).

      Minimum criterion: the general average at the baccalaureate exam can only be equal to or greater than 7,00. Files in which this criterion is not met are not allowed.
      In the case of equal environments, the following tie-breaking criteria will be applied:
      1. The grade obtained in the written exam of the baccalaureate in Romanian Language and Literature;
      2. The grade obtained in the written test from the discipline of your choice, depending on the profile/specialization of the high school, within the baccalaureate exam.

      (1) Candidates for undergraduate university studies who obtained, during their high school studies, distinctions (I, II, III prizes) at international school Olympiads recognized by the Ministry of Education and/or first prize at national Olympiads, financed by the Ministry of Education, benefit of the right to register, without supporting the admissions competition, for places financed from the budget.
      (2) Candidates who, during their high school studies, obtained distinctions (10,00nd, XNUMXrd prize) at national school Olympiads financed by the Ministry of Education will have their admission average for undergraduate university study programs within the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology equal to the average XNUMX.
      (3) The provisions of paragraph (2) also apply to the winners of the following contests:
      - The national competition "Education for the 3st century", XNUMXst place, in both sections, obtained in the last XNUMX years;
      - Olympiad of altruism – 2024 edition, first, second and third places.

    List of required documents
    1. The documents required for the application file for undergraduate university study programs within the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology are the following:
      1. ID card;
      2. Birth certificate;
      3. Marriage certificate - if appropriate;
      4. Baccalaureate diploma or equivalent;
        • Candidates who passed the baccalaureate exam in the sessions corresponding to the 2023-2024 school year can upload to the admission platform and present at the collection points the documents necessary for the admission process from the UVT offices and from the county admission centers organized by the UVT, for the admission session immediately following the session in which they passed the baccalaureate exam, instead of the baccalaureate diploma, the certificate issued by the pre-university education unit in the original or a legalized copy, which mentions the general average from the baccalaureate exam, the grades obtained in the tests taken at this exam, the validity period and the fact that the diploma has not been issued.
      5. Medical certificate issued by the family doctor, not older than 90 days from the date of its presentation at the document collection office, certifying whether the candidate is fit to enroll in university studies and, if applicable, the conditions chronic conditions suffered by the candidate (neuropsychiatric, psycho-pathological, pulmonary, dermato-venereal, disability (type, degree), etc.). Specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, etc.) or any special educational requirements will be attested by a diagnostic certificate;
      6. Certificate certifying completion of another undergraduate university study program (completed or not at the time of submitting the file), in which the funding regime in which each year of studies was completed (with funding from the state budget/with a fee) , if it is/was carried out at a state higher education institution in Romania) and, if applicable, the years and semesters of studies in which the student benefited from the scholarship, respectively its type - if appropriate.
      7. Certificate of English language skills - donate for applicants from undergraduate degree programs taught in English Psychology – Cognitive Sciences (in English). They recognize each other the following certificates:
        • International certificates (Cambridge: Proficiency A, B or C, Advanced A, B or C, First A, B or C; IELTS: minimum 6 points; TOEFL minimum 60 points);
        • Certificate of studies in English for candidates who have completed programs in English;
        • Distinctions at national or international English language Olympiads, certified by the Ministry of Education (I, II and III awards);
        • Candidates who do not hold an international certificate of linguistic competence in English will take the LIT Test organized by the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology of the Western University of Timișoara, on the day scheduled according to the admission process calendar. The admission test will be held in English, and the result will be equalized for those candidates who have also applied to other programs within the faculty.

    Accommodation policy

    The allocation of places in the dormitory is made according to the Regulation of accommodation in UVT dormitories. In order to obtain a place in the dormitory, it is necessary to submit an application together with the proving documents for the social case, respectively for extracurricular activities, if applicable. Volunteer activities, participation in workshops and trainings, as well as participation in scientific conferences or research are rewarded with additional points.

    Students of the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities with tradition organized within the faculty such as: student conferences, workshops, sports activities (SocioVelo), charitable and volunteer activities.

    College dorms

    The dormitories in which the students of the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology are assigned are Dormitory 13 and Dormitory 16 from the Student Complex and the UVT Dormitory on Cameliei Street. Seats vary from 2 to 5 students per room. UVT dormitories are buildings owned or operated by UVT, which provide living and study conditions for students. The West University of Timișoara has 10 dormitories, all equipped with adequate furniture, double glazed windows, video surveillance system, internet, cable TV, reading rooms, washing machines, kitchens.
