International Relations and European Studies

a) Knowledge:
● Effectively analyzing the fundamental aspects of the field of study;
● Knowledge, understanding and ability to use the main concepts and methods of the field in a manner that contributes to professional development;
● Acquisition of the main concepts and models used in security and strategic studies, as well as those related to them;
● Theoretical and practical approach to issues related to the organization and functioning of political institutions in Romania;

● Learning the main concepts and models used in economic and financial-banking security;

● Knowledge of the main concepts and models used in public policies;
● Acquisition of fundamental knowledge regarding political philosophy;
● Consolidation of fundamental knowledge regarding the spatial dimension of power relations;
● Knowing and understanding the position of Romanian geopolitics in the global geopolitical discourse;
● Adequate understanding of the configuration of power relations in the international system;
● Adequate understanding of institutional architecture in the global environment;
● Understanding the importance of supranational institutions in the study of relations between states;
● Learning the main concepts and models used in intelligence studies;
● Understanding the global role of the European Union and strengthening fundamental knowledge of the European Union's common foreign and security policy;
● Understanding the technical and ethical constraints involved in producing an academic text;
● Understanding the importance of acquiring skills and knowledge for further individual and professional development, beyond the strictly academic context of teaching and learning the elements of academic writing;
● In-depth knowledge of the Romanian and EU diplomatic system (institutions, mechanisms, main actors);
● Understanding and evaluating classic diplomacy and current trends: public diplomacy, preventive diplomacy, environmental diplomacy, economic diplomacy;
● Use of concepts and fundamental principles of organization and operation of European Union institutions;
● Theoretical and practical approach to the issues related to the organization and operation of the state protocol and other etiquette rules;
● Knowing the types of documents and sources in the profile analysis process.

b) Skills:
● Management of information specific to solving complex tasks in the context, including through the advanced use of an international language;
● Using the standard methods of the field to implement some projects that can contribute to professional development;
● The ability to correctly assess the national and international security environment;
● Recognition of security threats and the need to implement measures to prevent and counter them;
● The ability to critically analyze the coherence of the construction and implementation process of a state's foreign policy in the context of globalization;
● The ability to critically analyze the role of foreign policy in local, regional and multilateral governance;
● The ability to use digital certificates in the process of authentication and secure communication, as well as analysis of digital formats;
● The formation of a valuing, constructive attitude towards the knowledge of the spatial, structural and functional dimensions in the sphere of the exercise of power;
● The ability to access and interact with both traditional and new forms of media, have a critical understanding of them and understand the role and functions of media in democratic societies;
● The ability to cultivate a scientific environment centered on values ​​and democratic relations;
● Optimum and creative utilization of one's own potential in scientific activities.

c) Responsibility and autonomy:
● The ability to use critical reflection, responsibility, efficiency and creativity in the performance of professional tasks, taking into account the autonomy offered by the context;
● The ability to independently document relevant research topics;
● Applying gained experience and critical thinking in teamwork and problem solving
