Assigned seats for Roma candidates

At the West University of Timișoara (UVT), Romanian citizens of Roma ethnicity have the opportunity to run individually, under the same conditions as Romanian citizens, on seats financed from the state budget allocated by the Ministry of Education (MEdu) especially for this category of candidates.

Roma citizens can apply both on seats financed from the state budget distributed especially for this category of candidates, and on seats financed from the state budget addressed to all Romanian citizens or of the European Union, or on seats with a fee.

Through the registration form on the online platform, each candidate who declares himself to be of Roma ethnicity will be able to choose to run for a special seat allocated to the members of this ethnic group, by checking this in the section with Personal data and uploading on the platform and subsequently presenting at the collection points the documents organized by UVT, in addition to the documents required by the methodology on the organization and conduct of the admission process to university studies specific to each faculty, a certificate issued by a legally constituted Roma organization, regardless of its field of activity, stating that the candidate is part of the Roma ethnic group (the candidate does not have to be a member of the organization concerned). Declarations on one's own responsibility regarding the affiliation to the Roma ethnicity, registration with a notary or certificates issued by other institutions / structures, etc. will not be accepted.

The advantage of obtaining a seat financed from the special state budget for Roma candidates is that a student admitted to such a seat enjoys the status of tuition free of charge for the entire normal duration of university studies corresponding to the study program in which he is enrolled, without entering the reclassification process on seats financed from the state budget / with fee, provided that the annual conditions for the promotion of the academic year established by the UVT regulations are met.

Roma candidates will tick in the registration form if they want to apply for special seats for them, but will also select other options and types of seats for the situation in which they will not be admitted to special seats dedicated to them.

Roma candidates will be able to benefit from a special place dedicated to them only if they pass the entrance exam related to the study program they have enrolled in.

If there are more Roma candidates applying for places specifically designated for them than the number of such places available at the UVT level, for the bachelor's degree cycle, the selection of these candidates will be made, first of all, according to the average obtained at the baccalaureate exam, and then, in case of equal averages, according to the marks obtained at the exams from the baccalaureate exam, in order (Romanian language and literature, the compulsory profile test, the choice test of the profile and specialization). In the cycle of master's university studies, in the same situation, the distinction will be made after the average of the final exam of the bachelor's university studies, and then, in case of equal averages, after the average of the years of bachelor's university studies.

Candidates of Roma ethnicity can register for the admission process at the Western University of Timișoara on places specially intended for them until July 10, 2023 for the cycle of undergraduate studies, respectively July 14, 2023 for the master's degree cycle. If after this date not all the places dedicated to this category of candidates will be occupied, the registrations will be extended until their occupation, but not later than the date of July 21, 2023 for the cycle of undergraduate studies, respectively July 20, 2023 for the master's degree cycle (for the first admission session). If vacancies remain after this date, they will be offered in the admission session of the month September 2023.

For more information about this facility and the registration procedure, interested candidates can send an e-mail to admitere@e-uvt.ro.
