Description of the exam test (s)

Eliminating practical test – poetry recital;
- additionally, for candidates from the university study program of
Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts (Acting) (in German), practical test
The eliminatory test will also consist of a test to verify language skills.
in German;
Stage I – consisting of two tests:

▪ stage improvisation test;
▪ stage skills test;
Stage II – consists of two tests:
▪ performing a monologue;
▪ interpreting a story.

Details regarding the admission steps

    Eliminatory practical test: passed/failed; Stage I average (Test 1 = 70% + Test 2 = 30%): 40%; Stage II average (Test 1 = 50% + Test 2 = 50%): 50%; Baccalaureate exam average: 10%.

    (1) Graduates with a baccalaureate diploma or equivalent diploma who obtained distinctions (prizes I, II, III) during their high school studies at international school olympiads recognized by the Ministry of Education and Research and/or the first prize at national olympiads, financed by the Ministry of Education and Research in the field of Theatre, benefit from the right to enroll in undergraduate university study programs of the Department of Theatre and Performing Arts without taking the admission competition, on places financed from the state budget. (2) Graduates with a baccalaureate diploma or equivalent diploma who obtained distinctions (prizes II, III and mention) during their high school studies at national school olympiads in the field of Theatre, benefit from the equivalence of the eliminatory test. (3) Graduates with a baccalaureate diploma or equivalent who won the first prize at the PepinierArt National Student Competition in each section (four sections in Romanian and two sections in German) will benefit from the recognition of the award and exemption from taking the qualifying exam in the admission competition for the bachelor's degree programs in Performing Arts (Acting) and Performing Arts (Acting) (in German) at the Faculty of Music and Theatre - West University of Timișoara. Candidates will appear in the next two stages of the admission exam. The winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes from each section will benefit from the exemption from paying the registration fee for the admission competition to the undergraduate university study programs Performing Arts (Acting) and Performing Arts (Acting) (in German) within the Faculty of Music and Theatre - West University of Timișoara, if they attend the admission sessions organized by the West University of Timișoara.

List of required documents

  • Candidates who passed the baccalaureate exam in the sessions corresponding to the 2025-2026 school year can upload to the admission platform and present at the collection points the documents necessary for the admission process from the UVT offices and from the county admission centers organized by the UVT, for the admission session immediately following the session in which they passed the baccalaureate exam, instead of the baccalaureate diploma, the certificate issued by the pre-university education unit in the original or a legalized copy, which mentions the general average from the baccalaureate exam, the grades obtained in the tests taken at this exam, the validity period and the fact that the diploma has not been issued.

5. Medical certificate issued by the family doctor, the doctor from the school medical office or from a student medical office, no older than 90 days from the date of its presentation at the document collection office, attesting whether the candidate is fit to enroll in university studies and, if applicable, the chronic conditions from which the candidate suffers (neuropsychiatric, psycho-pathological, pulmonary, dermato-venereal, handicap (type, degree) etc.). Specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia etc.) or possible special educational requirements will be attested by a diagnostic certificate;
6. Certificate certifying completion of another undergraduate university study program (completed or not at the time of submitting the file), in which the funding regime in which each year of studies was completed (with funding from the state budget/ with fee, if it is/was carried out at a state higher education institution in Romania) and, if applicable, the years and semesters of studies in which the student benefited from the scholarship, respectively its type - if applicable.
(2) Candidates who are Romanian citizens or citizens of Member States of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation, as well as British citizens and their family members, as beneficiaries of the Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community 2019/C 384 I/01 (British citizens who are in Romania and continue to reside on the territory of Romania after the end of the transition period of the withdrawal process of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union, established in accordance with Article 126 of the Withdrawal Agreement for 31 December 2020, their family members who accompany them or who join them after the end of the transition period if they had the status of family members before its end, as well as children born or adopted after the end of the transition period, provided that they present proof of registration from the General Immigration Inspectorate within the Ministry of Internal Affairs), who completed their high school studies outside Romania, as well as those who hold study documents issued by education providers that provide pre-university education activities based on a curriculum of another state, on the territory of Romania, must present, in addition to the above documents, the equivalence/recognition document of studies issued by the National Center for the Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED). In the case of recognition documents issued online by the specialized departments within the Ministry of Education and Research, these are uploaded in electronic format to the admission platform by the candidate, within the deadline established for registration by the own regulation regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process at the level of each faculty, and do not require certification according to the original by UVT operators. The necessary documents and the procedure for the equivalence of studies completed outside Romania are mentioned in Annex 2 of the Regulation of the West University of Timișoara (UVT) regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process for university study programs at the bachelor's degree level.
(3) The documents required for candidates applying for places intended for Romanian citizens from all over the world are mentioned in Annex 3 of the Regulation of the West University of Timișoara (UVT) regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process for university study programs at the bachelor's degree level.*
(4) Candidates eligible to be exempted from the registration fee, according to article 19 of this regulation, will also upload the supporting documents for the category in which they belong to the admission platform.
(5) Candidates with outstanding results in national or international olympiads and competitions may upload the relevant supporting documents, issued by the olympiad/competition organizer, to the admission platform.
(6) For admission to undergraduate university study programs taught in Romanian, candidates who do not hold Romanian citizenship and who do not present Romanian study documents (diplomas and certificates) issued following the graduation of study programs taught in Romanian or study documents/school situations attesting to at least three years of consecutive studies followed in Romanian issued by school units/higher education institutions from the national system in Romania or abroad, are required to present a certificate/attestation of linguistic competence for the Romanian language of minimum level B1, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, issued by the pre-university education units organizing the introductory course in Romanian, by the accredited higher education institutions in Romania organizing the Romanian Language Preparatory Program for foreign citizens, regardless of the field studied, by the lecturers of Romanian language, literature, culture and civilization in the educational institutions
higher education institution from abroad, by the Romanian Language Institute or the Romanian Cultural Institute.
(7) For students who took the baccalaureate exam in Romania and who followed high school studies in an international language or in a language of national minorities, the certification of linguistic skills in oral communication in Romanian is done with the baccalaureate diploma, issued by authorized/accredited educational units in Romania.
(8) For study programs taught in an internationally spoken language, candidates may upload supporting documents to attest knowledge of the language of instruction, being relevant only those documents that attest knowledge of the respective language at a minimum level B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​or graduation certificates of university/pre-university study cycles issued by educational units/institutions in Romania or abroad, with teaching in the respective language. The language proficiency test cannot be equated based on the language proficiency certificate obtained after taking the tests within the baccalaureate exam.

*Romanians everywhere = people who freely assume the Romanian cultural identity, people of Romanian origin and those belonging to the Romanian linguistic and cultural lineage who live outside the borders of Romania, regardless of the ethnonym used, as well as Romanian emigrants, whether or not they have retained Romanian citizenship, their descendants and Romanian citizens with permanent residence or residence abroad.
