Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy and Theology

Candidates who do not meet the provisions of this paragraph will not be included in the ranking of the admission process.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES:

(1) The documents required for the application file for undergraduate university study programs within the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology are as follows:

➡ 1. ID card;

➡ 2. Birth certificate;

➡ 3. Marriage certificate - if appropriate;

➡ 4. Baccalaureate diploma or equivalent;

• Candidates who passed the baccalaureate exam in the sessions corresponding to the 2024-2025 school year can upload to the admission platform and present at the collection points the documents necessary for the admission process from the UVT offices and from the county admission centers organized by the UVT, for the admission session immediately following the session in which they passed the baccalaureate exam, instead of the baccalaureate diploma, the certificate issued by the pre-university education unit in the original or a legalized copy, which mentions the general average from the baccalaureate exam, the grades obtained in the tests taken at this exam, the validity period and the fact that the diploma has not been issued.

➡ 5. Medical certificate issued by the family doctor, no older than 90 days from the date of its presentation at the document collection office, which certifies whether the respective candidate is fit to enroll in university studies and, if applicable, the chronic conditions from which the candidate suffers (neuropsychiatric, psycho-pathological, pulmonary, dermato-venereal, handicap (type, degree) etc.). Specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, etc.) or possible special educational requirements will be attested by a diagnostic certificate;

➡ 6. Certificate certifying completion of another undergraduate university study program (completed or not at the time of submitting the file), in which the funding regime in which each year of studies was completed (with funding from the state budget/with a fee) , if it is/was carried out at a state higher education institution in Romania) and, if applicable, the years and semesters of studies in which the student benefited from the scholarship, respectively its type - if appropriate.

➡ 7. Proof of language proficiency for candidates who have obtained an international language proficiency certificate (DSD, ÖSD, Cambridge, TOEFL, DALF, DELE, telc, Goethe), prize at the international or national phase of school olympiads or at national/international competitions recognized or organized by the Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy and Theology of UVT. ➡ 8. Applicants enrolling in the undergraduate degree program Orthodox theology pastoral they will also upload the following documents on the admission platform and will present them in original at the admission points set up at the UVT headquarters and the county admission centers:

• a letter of intent;
• baptismal certificate;
• a recommendation from the parish priest;
• the written consent of the Archdiocese or Episcopate to which they belong.

➡ 9. Candidates who enroll in the undergraduate university study program Orthodox pastoral theology and come from other cults/denominations/religions than the Christian Orthodox one, according to the Decision of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church no. 358 of 13.02.2015, they will also upload the following documents to the online admission platform and present them in original at the admission points set up at the UVT headquarters and county admission centers:

• a letter of intent;
• baptismal certificate;
• the opinion of the cult of origin;
• the written consent of the Archdiocese of Timisoara;
• the agreement of the Patriarch of Romania;
• the opinion of the Council of the Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy and Theology within UVT.
• The candidate will send the Faculty Council's opinion to the following address until the end of the admission process: admitere.lift@e-uvt.ro .

Requesting the Faculty Council's opinion is done as follows:

• The request for approval will be submitted at least 72 hours before the end of the registration process, by completing the available form. are here.
• The Faculty Council's opinion, issued 24 hours before the end of the registration process, will be sent to the candidate by email.

(2) Candidates who are Romanian citizens or from member states of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation, as well as British citizens and their family members, as beneficiaries of Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community 2019/C 384 I/01, (British citizens who are in Romania and continue to reside on the territory of Romania after the end of the transition period of the withdrawal process of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union, established according to Article 126 of the Withdrawal Agreement for December 31, 2020, their family members who accompany them or who join them after the end of the transition period if they had the status of family members before its end, as well as children born or adopted after the end of the transition period, provided that proof of registration from the General Inspectorate of Immigration within the Ministry of Internal Affairs is presented), who completed their high school studies outside Romania, as well as those who hold study documents issued by education providers that provide pre-university education activities based on a curriculum of another state, on the territory of Romania, must present, in addition to the above documents, the document equivalence/recognition of studies issued by National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED). In the case of recognition documents issued online by the specialized departments within the Ministry of Education and Research, they are uploaded in electronic format to the admission platform by the candidate, within the deadline established for registration by the own regulation regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process at the level of each faculty, and do not require certification according to the original by UVT operators. The necessary documents and the procedure for the equivalence of studies completed outside Romania are mentioned in Appendix 2 a Regulations of the West University of Timisoara (UVT) regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process for university study programs at the bachelor's degree level

(3) Necessary documents for candidates applying for places for Romanian citizens everywhere[1] are mentioned in Appendix 3 a Regulations of the West University of Timisoara (UVT) regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process for university study programs at the bachelor's degree level.

 (4) Applicants eligible for exemption from the registration fee, in accordance with Article 19 of this Regulation, will upload on the admission platform also the supporting documents for the category in which they fall.

(5) Candidates with outstanding results at national or international Olympics and competitions can upload the relevant supporting documents on the admission platform.

(6) For admission to undergraduate university study programs taught in Romanian, candidates who do not hold Romanian citizenship and who do not present Romanian study documents (diplomas and certificates) issued following the graduation of study programs taught in Romanian or study documents/school situations attesting to at least three years of consecutive studies followed in Romanian issued by school units/higher education institutions from the national system in Romania or abroad, are required to present a certificate/attestation of linguistic competence for the Romanian language of minimum level B1, according to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, issued by the pre-university education units organizing the introductory course in Romanian, by the accredited higher education institutions in Romania organizing Romanian language preparatory program for foreign citizens, regardless of the field studied, by the lecturers of Romanian language, literature, culture and civilization in higher education institutions abroad, by the Institute of the Romanian Language or by the Romanian Cultural Institute.

(7) For students who took the baccalaureate exam in Romania and who followed high school studies in an international language or a language of national minorities, the certification of linguistic skills in oral communication in Romanian is done with the baccalaureate diploma, issued by authorized/accredited educational institutions in Romania.

(8) For study programs taught in an internationally spoken language, candidates may upload supporting documents to attest knowledge of the language of instruction, with only those documents attesting knowledge of the respective language at a minimum level of B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, being relevant. Language proficiency test cannot be equated based on the language proficiency certificate obtained after taking the tests within the baccalaureate exam.

[1] Romanians everywhere = persons who freely assume the Romanian cultural identity, persons of Romanian origin and those belonging to the Romanian linguistic and cultural vein who live outside the borders of Romania, regardless of the ethnonym used, as well as Romanian emigrants, whether they have kept or not Romanian citizenship, their descendants and Romanian citizens with permanent residence or residence abroad (who do not hold a Romanian identity card).

MASTER'S DEGREE:

(1) The documents required for the application file for master's degree programs within the Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy and Theology are as follows:

➡ 1. ID card;

➡ 2. Birth certificate - for UVT graduates of undergraduate studies who were admitted to undergraduate studies starting in 2020, it is not mandatory, and can be taken from the existing file for the undergraduate studies cycle, except in the case where the candidate has been issued another birth certificate since that time;

➡ 3. Marriage certificate - if appropriate;

➡ 4. Bachelor's degree or diploma equivalent to it, accompanied by the supplement to the diploma, or certificate of completion of undergraduate university studies, accompanied by the transcript, for candidates who graduated from undergraduate university studies in the current year; UVT graduates of undergraduate studies in the current year do not need to upload the certificate of completion of undergraduate studies and the transcript on the admission platform in order to apply for master's studies in the same year, the results of the final examination of undergraduate studies , respectively the average of the years of undergraduate university studies, being taken over in the candidate's file directly by the admission committees of the UVT faculties;

➡ 5. ➡ 7. Proof of knowledge of the English language at a minimum level of B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, for candidates enrolled in master's degree programs taught exclusively in English.

➡ 8. Candidates enrolling in the master's degree program Orthodox theology and Christian mission they will also upload the following documents on the admission platform and will present them in original at the admission points set up at the UVT headquarters and the county admission centers:

1. 1. letter of intent;
   2. baptismal certificate;
   3. recommendation from the parish priest;
   4. the written consent of the Archdiocese or Episcopate to which they belong.

➡ 9. Candidates who enroll in the master's degree program in Orthodox Theology and Christian Mission from other cults/denominations/religions than the Christian Orthodox one, according to the Resolution of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church no. 358 of 13.02.2015, will also upload the following documents to the online admission platform and will present them in original at the admission points set up at the UVT headquarters and county admission centers:

1. 1. a letter of intent;
   2. baptismal certificate;
   3. the opinion of the cult of origin;
   4. the written consent of the Archdiocese of Timisoara;
   5. the agreement of the Patriarch of Romania;
   6. the opinion of the Council of the Faculty of Letters, History, Philosophy and Theology within UVT.

(3) Necessary documents for candidates applying for places for Romanian citizens everywhere[1] are mentioned in Appendix 3 a Regulations of the West University of Timisoara (UVT) regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process for university study programs at the master's degree level.

(4) Applicants eligible for exemption from the registration fee, in accordance with Article 17 of this Regulation, will upload on the admission platform also the supporting documents for the category in which they fall.

(5) For admission to university master's degree programs taught in Romanian, candidates who do not hold Romanian citizenship and who do not present Romanian study documents (diplomas and certificates) issued following the graduation of study programs taught in Romanian or study documents/school situations attesting to at least three years of consecutive studies followed in Romanian issued by school units/higher education institutions from the national system in Romania or abroad, are required to present a certificate/attestation of linguistic competence for the Romanian language of minimum level B1, according to The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, issued by the pre-university education units organizing the introductory course in Romanian, by the accredited higher education institutions in Romania organizing Romanian language preparatory program for foreign citizens, regardless of the field studied, by the lecturers of Romanian language, literature, culture and civilization in higher education institutions abroad, by the Institute of the Romanian Language or by the Romanian Cultural Institute.

(6) For study programs with teaching in an internationally spoken language, candidates can upload supporting documents to attest knowledge of the language of instruction, being relevant only those documents attesting knowledge of the respective language at minimum level B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages .

(7) Candidates who present academic documents issued by educational institutions in Romania or abroad, with teaching in the respective language, will have their language proficiency test duly equivalent by the admission committee at the faculty level.
