Description of the exam test (s)

Admission is based on grades from the baccalaureate exam and a written test.

The written test, lasting 3 hours, can be taken, regardless of the field of study program in which the candidate enrolled, in one of the disciplines Mathematics or Computer Science, discipline specified by the candidate in the registration form. The subject elaboration commission, set up at the faculty level, will propose a set of problems, elaborated on the basis of the 2025 baccalaureate exam program.

Details regarding the admission steps

The selection of candidates registered for the admission competition is based on the admission average, which is calculated according to the formula: N = (max {N1, N2}+N3)/2 where N1 is the general average of the baccalaureate exam, N2 is the grade on the mathematics test or the computer science test of the baccalaureate exam (the lack of a grade is equivalent to a grade of 4), and N3 is the grade obtained on the written admission test (which must be at least equal to 5). The admission average must be greater than or equal to 6 (if N is less than 6, the candidate is rejected)

    1. All candidates with an average of 10 are admitted to places financed from the budget who: • have obtained distinctions (I, II, III prizes) during their high school studies at international school olympiads recognized by the Ministry of Education and/or I prize at national olympiads, financed by the Ministry of Education; Note. The Adolf Haimovici National Applied Mathematics Competition is assimilated to the Mathematics Olympiad. • have the status of class leaders within UVT partner high schools or who obtained an average of 10 in the baccalaureate exam (based on the invitation letter signed by the university rector) benefit from free registration for the admission process and may benefit from the right to enroll, without taking the admission competition, on places financed from the state budget, in undergraduate university study programs at any UVT faculty, if they provide proof of obtaining an individual distinction in school competitions in scientific fields (Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Robotics) recognized by MEdu. These candidates will be admitted with an average of 10 (ten). 2. Candidates who have obtained at least an individual II, III prize or mention during their high school studies at the national phase of the specialized Olympiads (mathematics or computer science) or of the Information Technology or Robotics competitions recognized by the Ministry of Education have the right to enroll in the fields of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, within the number of places allocated by MEdu, being admitted with an average of 10 (ten). 3. All candidates who: • have obtained at least one prize during their high school studies in competitions organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (IMF Competition, Traian Lalescu Inter-County Mathematics Competition) or in mathematics and computer science competitions organized by universities in the Universitaria consortium through their faculties (University of Bucharest, Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași) • have obtained at least one individual prize, I, II or III, during their high school studies in the county phases of the specialized olympiads (mathematics or computer science) organized by the Ministry of Education, may request the equivalence of one of the grades included in the admission average with a grade of 10. 4. Candidates who win team awards at national/international school competitions in scientific fields relevant to the profile of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Robotics), can equate one of the grades included in the calculation of the admission average, whatever it may be, with the grade obtained based on an interview and the evaluation of the personal portfolio with the results obtained during high school studies (based on the supporting documents uploaded on the admission platform). The portfolio evaluation and interview will be planned and conducted before the admission exam, during the admission application submission period, by a committee established at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics. Note.
