Admission calendar entries

Admission is based on grades from the baccalaureate exam and the written admission test.
The written test, lasting 3 hours, can be taken, regardless of the field of study program in which the candidate enrolled, in one of the disciplines Mathematics or Computer Science, discipline specified by the candidate in the registration form. The subject elaboration commission, set up at the faculty level, will propose a set of problems, elaborated on the basis of the 2024 baccalaureate exam program.
The selection of candidates registered for the admission contest is made on the basis of the admission average, which is calculated according to the formula:
N = (N3 + max {N1, N2}) / 2
where N1 is the general average in the baccalaureate exam, N2 is the grade in the Mathematics test or in the Informatics test from the baccalaureate exam (missing the grade is equivalent to grade 4), and N3 is the grade obtained in the written admission test (what must be at least equal to 5). The admission average must be greater than or equal to 6 (if N is less than 6 the candidate is rejected).
1. On average, 10 candidates will be admitted, on places financed from the budget, who:
• during their high school studies, they obtained distinctions (I, II, III prizes) at the international school Olympiads recognized by the Ministry of Education;
• during the high school studies they obtained at least one individual prize I, II, III or mention at the national phase of the specialized olympiads (Mathematics or Informatics) or of the competitions of Information Technology or Robotics recognized by the Ministry of Education;
Note. The Adolf Haimovici National Mathematics Competition is assimilated to the Mathematical Olympiad.
• have the status of head of promotion within the UVT partner high schools or who obtained an average of 10 in the baccalaureate exam (on the basis of the letter of invitation signed by the rector of the university) benefit from free registration for the admission process and can benefit from the right to apply, without supporting the admissions competition, to places financed from the state budget, to bachelor's degree programs from any faculty of UVT", if they provide proof of obtaining an individual distinction in school competitions in scientific fields (Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Robotics) recognized by MEdu. These candidates will be admitted with an average of 10 (ten).
2. All candidates applying for a grade of one of the marks included in the calculation of the admission average may apply for a grade of 10.
• have obtained at least one prize during their high school studies at competitions organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (FMI Competition, Traian Lalescu Intercounty Mathematics Competition) or at mathematics and informatics competitions organized by universities from the Universitaria consortium through their specialized faculties ( University of Bucharest, Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași);
• during their high school studies, they obtained at least one individual prize I, II or III at the county phases of the specialty Olympiads (Mathematics or Computer Science) organized by the Ministry of Education.
3. Candidates who obtain team awards at national/international school competitions in scientific fields relevant to the profile of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Robotics), can equate one of the grades that enter in the calculation of the admission average, whatever it may be, with the grade obtained on the basis of an interview and the evaluation of the personal portfolio with the results obtained during the high school studies (based on the supporting documents uploaded on the admission platform). The portfolio assessment and the interview will be planned and conducted before the entrance exam, during the submission of the admission files, by a committee established at the IMF level.
Note. The Adolf Haimovici National Mathematics Competition is assimilated to the Mathematical Olympiad.
