Description of the exam test (s)

     Article 11. Admission competition/tests

Admission to master's degree studies at the Faculty of Governance and Communication Sciences is done through a competition, regardless of the form of education in which they are organized, based on the tests established by this regulation, in order to evaluate the skills specific to the field of study based on a bibliography including specialized works.

The admission tests are also taken by Romanian candidates from all over the world.

Admission test: Interview

  1. The admission test consists of an interview which takes place in all master's degree programs within the Faculty of Governance and Communication Sciences. The interview is marked as passed/failed. The interview is thematic and aims to verify the candidate's minimal knowledge in the field of study for which he/she is applying, according to ANNEX 1 to this regulation.
  2. The interview will be held online, and the candidates' schedule will be announced the day before the admission test, via email.
  3. Interview for admission to the master's degree program Sustainable futures and urban change will be conducted in the language of study of the study program, namely in English. Knowledge of the language of study of the master's degree program is a mandatory and eliminatory condition. Candidates are required to upload to the admission platform a certificate attesting to knowledge of the language of instruction of the study program, being relevant only those documents that attest to knowledge of the respective language at a minimum level B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Candidates who present academic documents issued by educational institutions in Romania or abroad, with teaching in the respective language, will upload to the admission platform the academic documents, which will be recognized by the admission committee within the faculty, taking the place of the certificate of linguistic competence.
    1. The interview evaluation will be based on a set of evaluation criteria established by the admissions committee (scale) consisting of:

    - the relevance of the candidate's general knowledge regarding the field and master's degree program they choose – 4 points

    - the candidates' skills and motivation for higher education activity at the level of the master's degree cycle and for the approach from the perspective of the desired specialization – 2 points

    - the candidate's motivation to follow the full cycle of studies and complete a dissertation – 2 points

    - the candidate's appreciation of the degree of priority that the study program holds within other short and medium-term obligations – 1 point

    - Official score – 1 point

    Candidates who have obtained at least 6 points in the admission interview will be declared admittedCandidates who scored below 6 points in the admission interview will be declared rejected.

     

Details regarding the admission steps

    Article 14. Admission average (1) The minimum general admission average for master's degree programs organized by UVT cannot be less than 6,00 (six). (2) The general admission average is calculated with two decimal places, without rounding and is equal to the average of the final bachelor's degree exam. (3) The ranking of candidates is done in descending order of the averages obtained in the admission competition and within the limit of the places approved for each university study program. (4) The general average or the general scores obtained by candidates in the admission competition are valid for establishing the ranking only within the Faculty of Governance and Communication Sciences, according to this regulation. (5) The ranking resulting from the admission competition will also be used for the distribution of places financed through study grants, these going to the best ranked eligible candidates for each master's degree university study program. (6) For the tie-breaker, in the case of candidates with admission averages equal to that of the last place distributed, both for places financed from the state budget and for places with fees, the following will be used as tie-breaker elements: a) The grade obtained in the bachelor's thesis defense within the bachelor's degree final exam; b) The grade obtained in the knowledge verification test within the bachelor's degree final exam.

List of required documents

Article 9. Documents required for registration in the admission process
(1) The documents required for the application file for the master's degree programs within the Faculty of Governance and Communication Sciences are as follows:
1. Identity card/report card;
2. Birth certificate – for UVT graduates of undergraduate studies it is mandatory, and can be taken from the existing file for the undergraduate studies cycle, except in the case where the candidate has been issued another birth certificate since that time;
3. Marriage certificate – if applicable;
4. Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma, accompanied by the diploma supplement, or certificate of graduation from undergraduate studies, accompanied by the transcript, for candidates who graduated from undergraduate studies in the current year; UVT graduates of undergraduate studies in the current year do not have to upload the certificate of graduation from undergraduate studies and the transcript on the admission platform in order to register for master's studies in the same year, the results of the final exam for undergraduate studies, respectively the average of the years of undergraduate studies, being taken over in the candidate's file directly by the admission committees of UVT faculties;
5. Medical certificate issued by the family doctor, no older than 90 days from the date of its presentation at the document collection office, attesting whether the candidate is fit to enroll in university studies and, if applicable, the chronic conditions from which the candidate suffers (neuropsychiatric, psycho-pathological, pulmonary, dermato-venereal, disability (type, degree) etc.). Specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia etc.) or possible special educational requirements will be attested by a diagnostic certificate;
6. Certificate attesting to the completion of another master's degree university study program (completed or not at the time of submitting the file), mentioning the funding regime in which each year of study was completed (with funding from the state budget/with a fee, if it is/was carried out at a state higher education institution in Romania) and, if applicable, the years and semesters of study in which the student benefited from the scholarship, respectively its type - if applicable.
(2) Candidates who are Romanian citizens or citizens of Member States of the European Union, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation, as well as British citizens and their family members, as beneficiaries of the Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community 2019/C 384 I/01 (British citizens who are in Romania and continue to reside on the territory of Romania after the end of the transition period of the withdrawal process of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union, established in accordance with Article 126 of the Withdrawal Agreement for 31 December 2020, their family members who accompany them or who join them after the end of the transition period if they had the status of family members before its end, as well as children born or adopted after the end of the transition period, provided that proof is presented registration from the General Immigration Inspectorate within the Ministry of Internal Affairs), who completed their undergraduate studies outside Romania must present, in addition to the above documents, the equivalence/recognition document of the studies issued by the National Center for the Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas (CNRED). In the case of recognition documents issued online by the specialized departments within the Ministry of Education and Research, these are uploaded in electronic format to the admission platform by the candidate, within the deadline established for registration by the own regulation regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process at the level of each faculty, and do not require certification according to the original by UVT operators. The necessary documents and the procedure for the equivalence of studies completed outside Romania are mentioned in Annex 2 of the Regulation of the West University of Timișoara (UVT) regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process for university study programs at the master's degree level.
(3) The documents required for candidates applying for places intended for Romanian citizens from all over the world are mentioned in Annex 3 of the Regulations of the West University of Timișoara (UVT)
regarding the organization and conduct of the admission process for university study programs at the master's degree level.
(4) Applicants eligible for exemption from the registration fee, in accordance with Article 17 of this Regulation, will upload on the admission platform also the supporting documents for the category in which they fall.
(5) For admission to university master's degree programs taught in Romanian, candidates who do not hold Romanian citizenship and who do not present Romanian study documents (diplomas and certificates) issued following the graduation of study programs taught in Romanian or study documents/school situations attesting to at least three years of consecutive studies followed in Romanian issued by school units/higher education institutions from the national system in Romania or abroad, are required to present a certificate/attestation of linguistic competence for the Romanian language of minimum level B1, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, issued by the pre-university education units organizing the introductory course in Romanian, by the accredited higher education institutions in Romania organizing the Romanian language preparatory program for foreign citizens, regardless of the field studied, by the lecturers of Romanian language, literature, culture and civilization in higher education institutions abroad, by the Romanian Language Institute or the Romanian Cultural Institute.
(6) For study programs taught in an internationally spoken language, candidates are required to upload supporting documents to attest to their knowledge of the language of instruction, with only those documents attesting to knowledge of the respective language at a minimum level of B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, being relevant.
